Yearly Archives: 2010

Stories from 2010

It seems that it’s that time of year again. The time when one year becomes a different one, when we look back and collect all the stories from the year that will be told in years to come. That’s what I’m doing today. As a photographer I always find that the photos I create are...

#5 takes my breath away. So simple, and yet it tells an entire story. Well done!

Angela - January 3, 2011 - 4:21 pm

Happy New Year. You were so busy last year with the fundraiser – 30 days of Edmonton – countless family, and baby photos and of course the bajillion weddings! Can’t wait to see what you will create this year. Good luck!

Lauren - January 3, 2011 - 4:30 pm

Hey! After our talk the other night, I figured I should comment :P Beautiful work!!!

Kyra - January 3, 2011 - 4:31 pm

As always Amanda, beautiful work! I’m a huge fan of #13 and #14. The lighting and the romance of the setup is just perfect! Looking forward to seeing what 2011 brings your way. :-)

Megan - January 3, 2011 - 4:35 pm

I love #3 on the snowy mountain. I see that photo and it makes me want to have a winter wedding – even though we will actually be getting married in July!

Congrats on a great year! Aaron and I are looking forward to seeing the moments you capture for our own wedding this summer!

Carmen Singh - January 3, 2011 - 4:47 pm

It is nearly impossible to choose a favorite, but if I absolutely must then it has to be # 13… or 16… or 1. Nope, can’t choose, they are all beautiful.

Samantha Astalos - January 3, 2011 - 9:44 pm

They are of course all amazing, but I especially love 9, 11 + 16. Can’t wait for you guys to photograph our wedding in May :)

Amanda - January 3, 2011 - 11:39 pm

Love these pictures Amanda. Especially #1 & #5 (Tim’s picture). Great work this year and congrats again on getting your own studio where you can have your own place to create!

Elizabeth - January 4, 2011 - 12:44 am

Thanks again Amanda and Tim. We had such an awesome time with you guys. That photo (14) is one of my favorites. I call it our “twilight photo” because I feel like it was taken from the scene in Twilight where Edward and Bella are laying in the meadow and he is all sparkly :)

I also love #17, that is just too perfect a moment!

Laura - January 4, 2011 - 12:53 pm

I LOVE them all… but number 11 is so priceless, in so many ways. You are soo talented Amanda!!

Helen - January 14, 2011 - 12:41 pm

Love #17, my parents run with those crazy folks!!
Also love #11, such a sweet emotion and I love the colours!!

Jenny - January 20, 2011 - 11:40 pm

Well, despite the fact that I’d love to say that the girl in #2 is totally gorgeous (right), I am pretty sure that #1 is probably *the* photo that sold me on your photography via your website. And also, #11 is a serious alltime favorite as well. Everyone now! 3…2..1… awwwwwww.

Jenny - January 20, 2011 - 11:43 pm

Uhh, let’s try that again.

Well, despite the fact that I’d love to say that the girl in #2 is gorgeous (riiiight), I’m pretty sure that #1 is the photo that sold me on your photography via your website. And also, #11 is a serious alltime favorite. Every one now! 3… 2… 1… awwww.

30 Days of Edmonton: Day 30, Union Bank Inn & Madison’s Grill

First of all, I want to thank the community for all of their support over the past month and a half. Your response to my little musings and the stories of some of Edmonton’s entrepreneurs has been a pleasant surprise. I feel like I dove into this experience not really sure what I was looking...

30 Days of Edmonton: Day 29, Audreys Books

Day 29! Wow…how did that happen? It feels like just yesterday that I was putting this crazy idea into action. Today on the blog is a business that I would consider to be an Edmonton landmark. Audreys books isn’t just about shelves filled with neatly bound pages, but a place to discover something unique and...

30 Days of Edmonton: Day 28, Lucky Strike Custom Tattoos

So you want a little ink? Or maybe a lot…but where do you start? That was kind of my thought as I stepped into a tattoo studio for the first time in my life on Monday. So I asked Sam, the owner of Lucky Strike, how this all works. The fact that Sam is such...

30 Days of Edmonton: Day 27, The Blue Plate Diner

I think it was probably around the time I started working downtown that I discovered the Blue Plate Diner. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it’s been one of the most recommended restaurants over the course of this blog series, and for good reason. It’s honestly something that’s hard to describe because it is...
